    Revival Among Gen Z

A Generation Rises Up in New Zealand

    Michael Jenkins:

I think many hit rock bottom and walked through really hard times during COVID. Many people reached the end themselves; and in that place, many have turned to look to God. There's been a real turn to God in New Zealand, the last few years especially, and a real passion for Him and for our generation to know Him across New Zealand.

    Micah Thompson:

Michael and I work as full-time missionaries in New Zealand. As part of that, we've done a bunch of tours across the country, including one where we went to 70 different towns and cities, which is literally every place in New Zealand with a population above 4,000 people.

    Michael:

In 2024, a group of us were involved with The Send, where we gathered believers. We’re seeing a real hunger amongst Kiwis and believers together, ready to be sent. And through that event last year, we saw 18,000 people gather together in church venues across New Zealand. Of those we gathered with, about 1,600 people committed to reaching their high schools and universities, another 1,700 individuals committed to reach children. We saw 2,700 people commit to reach their local communities and to do outreaches. Around 1,700 Kiwis want to become missionaries and reach the nations. So we’re seeing not just a few, but hundreds and hundreds of young people responding to and encountering God. They’re willing to go and to share their faith across New Zealand, and across the nations as well.

    Micah:

We are a small part of the world, but I know our God loves to use the small and the unseen to accomplish great and mighty things. And I'm truly believing that we're going to see a wave of missions and a wave of the gospel explode from Oceania and head all the way back to Jerusalem. I'm truly believing that we could see a continent changed, that we could see everyone saved, even. Why not? And a generation responds to the worthiness of Jesus with a lifestyle of action laid down in love for Him. And I think that's going to change the world.

    Ahron Muir:

I can't wait to see what happens when a generation goes after God with everything they have. There's purpose to be found in Him. There's freedom to be found in Him. And when that all comes together, it's going to shift the nation.

    Shekynah Clarke:

Young people are wanting to know God because they're trying to find who they are. There's an identity piece that can only come from the Father, and I think there's a deep need for that in this generation.

    Allan Christopher:

There's only one light, there's only one answer to everything that's going on in the world right now. It's not a politician, it's not a president, it's not a prime minister, it's not an organization. His name is Jesus.

    Michael:

In the last 18 months, I've traveled throughout New Zealand multiple times, traveled through Australia, parts of Fiji, and literally, Jesus is everywhere. We're seeing the same things: Him moving in prayer times, in churches, on the streets. Jesus is literally everywhere in Oceania and right here in New Zealand.
